lives and works in London (UK)

Ana Paula García Benavides (b.1996) is a London-based artist originally from Monterrey, Mexico. Her luscious paintings are characterized by a masterful interplay of chromatic and textural elements, carefully layered to produce compositions that are both visually captivating and conceptually rich. Her oeuvre frequently draws upon the organic patterns and forms found in nature, which she utilizes as a means of exploring broader themes of identity, memory, and perception. Through a meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the nuances of painting, Benavides imbues her works with a sense of dynamism and emotional depth that is both captivating and thought-provoking.

Benavides received her BA in Advertising and Marketing Communications from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) in 2018. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in painting at the Royal College of Art. She is set to graduate in 2023 and has already established herself as a promising artist in the contemporary art scene. Her recent group exhibitions include The Consolation of Clinamen, Tabula Rasa Gallery (Beijing, 2023); Group Show, Gallery T293, (Rome, forthcoming); Secret Gardens, Wilder Gallery (London, 2023); CACOTOPIA 07, Annka Kultys Gallery (London, 2023); LUMA, curated by Jenn Ellis, AORA, (London, 2023); I Feel Everything All At Once, Natasha Arselan Gallery (London 2023), RAW - An RCA WIP Show, Soho Revue Gallery (London, 2022), among others.
