Suyon Huh (b.1993, Seoul, Korea) is an artist who currently lives and works in Seoul, Korea. Her work begins by closely examining the many symbolic relationships between certain objects. Her use of iconographic materials with universal meanings has the viewer question and reach beyond what is presented as the norm. Well-known images such as teddy bears, angels, hearts, crosses, and stars are presented not in the way that is familiar to us; instead filtered through other cultures that have assigned them other contradictory meanings, or at times overthrown the meaning altogether. Stories of people's conflicting perceptions of the same subject matter—such as anecdotes of party-goers mishearing the sound of gunshots as firecrackers and dancing to them—become important allegories when using this symbolism.

Suyon majored in Korean Painting at Ewha Woman’s University. Recent solo exhibitions include INSECURE Ms. Kim, Oksang Factory (Seoul, 2022); Houseless, LOG (Seoul, 2022); Follow the Rabbit, FAS (Seoul, 2021); HPIX DOSAN ✕ HUH SUYON, Hpix (dual solo, Seoul, 2020); Retrieve, Recycle, Revive, G Gallery (Seoul, 2019).
